Spreading hope at the Harmony Community Food Pantry
“King’s dreams live on at North Lawndale pantry.”
This was the headline on an article at the Greater Chicago Food Depository website earlier this year about the partnership between Grace and Harmony Community Church.
“Together" the article said, "they hope to serve and effect positive change in North Lawndale.”
“We’re one body in Christ and we are in this together,” says Pastor James Brooks in this new video.
Food insecurity is greater than ever in the North Lawndale neighborhood during the pandemic. Diane Carioscio, director of the Food Pantry reports, “COVID-19 has had a huge effect on how we operate. ... Our weekly numbers of households served are up about 75 percent from the first two weeks of March."
