Connect in January
Join friends from Grace for conversation and conviviality
It's been eons since we've been able to gather in Fellowship Hall for a meal or talk with one another in the Grace atrium, paper coffee cup in hand. Let's get together in others ways to share our stories, to talk, laugh and pray together. Here are some opportunities to connect with Grace friends in January. You don't need to sign up ahead of time. Grace members can connect from the links in their emails from Grace Church.
Third Saturday Stories and Supper
Saturday, January 16, 4:30pm
Food connects us to meaningful stories, traditions, and cultural experiences in our lives. Come and hang out on Zoom for an hour to eat “fair food.” Corndogs and lemonade anyone? You are (of course) on your own for supper. Do you need some kitchen inspiration? Here are recipes for 60 fair foods you can recreate at home. Pastor Troy will share his memories of the Sandwich Fair (including photos) from his hometown of Sandwich, Illinois. Maybe you have a fair story of your own to share!
Compline and Conversation
Wednesday, January 20, 7pm
We will gather to pray the service of Compline together from the LBW, the traditional service of prayer for the end of the day, and then have a time of conversation and connection. Pastor Troy leads worship.
Young Adult Theology on Tap
Friday, January 22, 8pm
Young adults of Grace (roughly age 18-40) are invited to bring a favorite beverage and join Pastor Troy for conversation centered around epiphany. How do we we see—or struggle to see—God revealed in our lives?
Dads of Grace
Monday, January 25, 7:30pm
Join Pastor Lyle and other dads for an evening of fellowship on Zoom. Grab a beer or soda (or whatever) and join a conversation about being a dad during a pandemic. If you have a kid at home, this gathering is for you!
Men’s Group Coffee and Conversation
Saturday, January 30, 9am
Join men of Grace of all ages for coffee and conversation. We will discuss a topic and talk about how it is related to our lives of faith in the world. Hosted by Pastor Troy.
