Prayer of the Day
Almighty and ever-living God, you hold together all things in heaven and on earth. In your great mercy receive the prayers of all your children, and give to all the world the Spirit of your truth and peace, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

"Love That Abides, Not Abandons"
John 14:15-21
It is easy during the COVID-19 crisis to feel abandoned. Those who live alone are, well, alone. Those who are working while helping their children learn at home are overwhelmed. Those who have lost work and income are being left behind. There are days we feel forsaken, forgotten. Jesus speaks to us in our despair. As to children without parents, so does God speak to us: “I will not leave you orphaned.” In the death and resurrection of Jesus, God adopts us into God’s family. God has chosen you. Having chosen you, God will not abandon you. Although Jesus returns to the Father, another Advocate and Helper is sent to us. The Holy Spirit descends, restoring us to hope and equipping us to fulfill Christ’s commandment to love one another.
