Prayer of the Day
O God, form the minds of your faithful people into your one will. Make us love what you command and desire what you promise, that, amid all the changes of this world, our hearts may be fixed where true joy is found, your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

"The Lord’s Other Prayer"
John 17:20-26
The words of the Lord’s Prayer, given by Jesus to his disciples as a model for prayer, are deeply embedded in our hearts. But today, as we near the end of Eastertide, we hear another of our Lord’s prayers. We find ourselves again in that Upper Room on Thursday night. Jesus has finished his farewell address to his friends. Now, he speaks to his Father. Jesus prays. He prays that we will continue in faith, that we will be united as one, and that we will continue in love. In a world so bereft of belief, unity, and love, it is a comfort beyond measure to know that Jesus — the crucified and risen Lord of creation — prays for us. Jesus’ “high priestly prayer” draws us into the divine life where we come to know that we are always known and loved by God.
