Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, with joy we celebrate the day of our Lord’s resurrection. By the grace of Christ among us, enable us to show the power of the resurrection in all that we say and do, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

"The Risen Jesus Keeps Showing Up"
John 20:19-31

On this second Sunday of Easter we find the risen Jesus quite active in the world: walking through locked doors, appearing before his disciples, showing his wounds to Thomas, speaking peace to those same disciples, and breathing upon them the holy and life-giving Spirit. One thing we know about the risen Jesus is he keeps showing up, not just then but in your life and mine. Through the locked doors of our own sin and death Jesus breaks through, offering himself as life abundant. Amid doubt the wounded yet risen one shows himself to us in water, word, meal, and stranger embracing us wherever we find ourselves. In the midst of fear he offers peace, and just when we need it, he breathes the Spirit into our tired and weary bodies. Sustained and sent by that same Jesus, we now testify to the resurrection in our own day, and the risen Jesus keeps showing up.
