Mark 3:20-35
As we enter summer, so do we enter Ordinary Time and the Sundays after Pentecost. This brings us back near the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. Mark’s Gospel shows us a world in which things are ordinary, which is to say that things are so bad, so divided, that people can’t even tell the difference between demons and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, however, has come to bring a new normal. He has come to plunder Satan’s domain and unite God’s people as one people, one Body of Christ. We unite today, in place and in song, to sing our praises to this One, this Jesus, who has bound the strongman of sin and death and sets us free to be one family of God.
