Prayer of the Day
O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the power of death. Make us die every day to sin, that we may live with him forever in the joy of the resurrection, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

"Nobody Expects the Savior’s Resurrection!"
Luke 24:1-12
Early that morning, a group of faithful women go to Jesus’ tomb. They go, but without hope. Two men in dazzling clothes confront them with an unlooked for surprise: He is not here, but has risen. Terror gives way to joy. They find the eleven and proclaim the gospel: Their friend is alive! They are met with disbelief; this must be an idle tale and nothing more. God’s possibilities, however, are neither defined nor proscribed by our expectations. Based on experience, we assume that death is the end. In Jesus, however, God is writing a new story, world without end.
