Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Grant us grace to follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Sermon
"Remnants"
All Saints Sunday allows us to pause as we near the end of the liturgical year. Today we make time to remember. Today we celebrate and commemorate. Today we feel our loss and also see our future, all of it held in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we hear the names of those saints who have died in the past year, we also hear the unnamed that Jesus reminds us are also blessed saints in our Gospel today: the poor, the hungry, those who weep, and those who are hated. We hear our own names being called to the table of grace of mercy, as our lips receive the body and blood of Christ, for you. We see the sainthood in others, and we hear the truth of our sainthood for ourselves. Today we pause and hear Jesus' words of promise: "Yours is the kingdom." And we heed our call as saints to declare and live out this promise, all for the sake of others.

Children's Sermon
We invite children and adults  to bring an item of remembrance with them to worship—a remembrance of a loved one who has died. During the children’s sermon, children will bring forward their items, and we will talk about the gift of our ancestors and our shared sainthood in Jesus Christ. Adults who have brought items may wish to hold those objects during this time while sitting in the pews.
