Sermon
A little faith goes a long way is our Lord’s point in the gospel reading. A mustard seed’s-worth has miraculous potential. The patience, tenacity, and endurance required for the life of faith are the blessings received in water and the word (Holy Baptism), bread and wine (Holy Communion), the word read and proclaimed. Anticipate them. Receive them with thanksgiving.
The preaching minister for this morning’s services is Pastor Britta Taddiken, who serves as Senior Pastor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany. The church is best known as the workplace of Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as Cantor there from 1723 until his death in 1750. It is our joy to welcome Pastor Taddiken to Grace, strengthening the ties of our congregations and celebrating our common musical heritage, which serves to offer glory and praise to God.
