Prayer of the Day
O Lord God, enliven and preserve your church with your perpetual mercy. Without your help, we mortals will fail; remove far from us everything that is harmful, and lead us toward all that gives life and salvation, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Scripture readings
Ezekiel 33:7-11
Psalm 119:33-40
Romans 13:8-14
Matthew 18:15-20
Sermon
"Crossing Out Sin"
Matthew 18:15-20
It is tempting to believe that the church should be a community without conflict, but that would be a mistake. A mistake that leads to disillusionment. We are human; wherever two or three are gathered there will be disagreement. What makes the church unique is that we are people whose lives are shaped by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In him, we are forgiven. Through him, we can forgive. Christ promises to be among us, helping us live out the reconciliation he has given us.
